Moab Pride, an affiliate of the Utah Pride Center

Moab Pride, an affiliate of the Utah Pride Center
Short Organization Description:
Growing up in a small, rural Utah town has its challenges & limitations. Growing up feeling different, with very few role models or resources can feel alienating. We, at Moab Pride envision beyond our Festival, a year 'round presence in our community. Moab Pride's aim is to benefit the LGBTQ community by introducing Educational and Outreach Programs throughout Southern Utah & the Four Corners Region, to ensure safe schools for all regardless of sexual orientation and/or gender identity/expression. To provide welcoming services, support & information for our community members & the thousands of visitors that come to our hometown for fun & adventure. The organizers see the Festival as a gift to everyone; a chance to bring people together to enjoy the beauty and big heart that is Moab. An event that ENTERTAINS, ENGAGES & DELIGHTS! Ultimately it's the Pride in our community that we want to share with others. Vision: Moab Pride sees a world where all human beings are inspired to engage in their communities; with acceptance of differences & love of what connects us; with commitment to understanding, kindness & equality for all. Mission To encourage understanding & acceptance of everyone and contribute to the overall well-being of the Moab GLBTQ community & beyond. We accomplish this by raising awareness through integrating entertaining & educational programs and events for everyone. Engaging & partnering with the whole community to create a more informed public- challenged & delighted by a deeper understanding of experiences, ideas & motivations.

Compathos
Short Organization Description:
Compathos Foundation is a media production, education and research organization harnessing the power of the arts to inspire transformation, global citizenry and social action. Our growing community of award winning artists and media pros are passionate about creating inspiring socially oriented media campaigns that deliver measurable impacts and generate viewer action. We believe the power of story not only inspires and raises awareness, but helps to promote positive change by multiplying philanthropic and volunteer resources to organizations and communities worldwide. We create and curate transmedia content that enables a broad audience to identify entry points for action. We engage individuals and communities through film screenings, workshops, events and on-line content. Behind the scenes, we support youth, artists and filmmakers both in their craft, and in their expanding roles as social entrepreneurs. Equally important, we help those involved with positive change extend their reach as engaging storytellers. A current example of our work includes a film documentary and campaign http://www.drawnfromwater.com to raise funds for children in Ethiopia. We conduct social and environmental film screenings and are initiating a youth media summit that will focus on media literacy, global citizenry, cause awareness, and social and environmental action. We are activity seeking corporate sponsors for our screenings and events, most of which take place in the Bay Area. Sponsorship Proposal / Package available upon request.
