Growing up in a small, rural Utah town has its challenges & limitations. Growing up feeling different, with very few role models or resources can feel alienating. We, at Moab Pride envision beyond our Festival, a year 'round presence in our community. Moab Pride's aim is to benefit the LGBTQ community by introducing Educational and Outreach Programs throughout Southern Utah & the Four Corners Region, to ensure safe schools for all regardless of sexual orientation and/or gender identity/expression. To provide welcoming services, support & information for our community members & the thousands of visitors that come to our hometown for fun & adventure. The organizers see the Festival as a gift to everyone; a chance to bring people together to enjoy the beauty and big heart that is Moab. An event that ENTERTAINS, ENGAGES & DELIGHTS! Ultimately it's the Pride in our community that we want to share with others. Mission To encourage understanding & acceptance of everyone and contribute to the overall well-being of the Moab GLBTQ community & beyond. We accomplish this by raising awareness through integrating entertaining & educational programs and events for everyone. Engaging & partnering with the whole community to create a more informed public- challenged & delighted by a deeper understanding of experiences, ideas & motivations.

The organization has attracted the support of prominent funders and leading think-tank organizations, built a solid customer base of skilled boomer talent, established an effective staffing and infrastructure, and created a buzz in the community.

Burma Community Builders promotes peace and democracy in Burma by providing basic education to the world’s most underrepresented people. Education is powerfully correlated to poverty, violence, health, and democracy. By educating the world’s poorest people, we can change our global society in a fundamentally positive direction. Burma Community Builders is not simply a charity. In order to create sustainable projects, we collaborate with local villages as equal partners for our school building projects. We provide each school with materials, skilled labor, and financial support. Communities in turn physically construct the school and manage the running of the school.

The Mental Health Association of Nebraska (MHA-NE) is a consumer-run, voluntary not-for-profit statewide association with Chapters located in communities throughout Nebraska. MHA-NE brings together service recipients, families, professionals, advocates and concerned citizens to address all aspects of mental health and mental illness. We are dedicated to ensuring that public mental health policy is just, fair and promotes equality and opportunity. MHA-NE supports freedom for individuals with mental illness. Freedom to take advantage of any of life’s opportunities. Freedom to decide where one lives, works; and the important thing they will do with their lives, the relationships they establish, how they chose to contribute to their community, and what services they will use.

PLAN’s mission is to build collective strategic action among coalition partners in order to deepen democracy and achieve greater social justice in Nevada. Since 1994, we have worked to bring together diverse and potentially competing organizations into one cohesive force for transformational change in Nevada. Our 32 coalition member groups include the largest labor unions in the state, LGBT, conservation and women’s groups, civil rights organizations, Latino organizations, Native American Tribes, and anti-poverty advocacy groups. Our key strategies include research, political education and training, leadership development, communications, civic engagement, direct action, coalition building, and lobbying.

The Fortune Society is a nonprofit social service and advocacy organization, founded in 1967, whose mission is to support successful reentry from prison and promote alternatives to incarceration, thus strengthening the fabric of our communities.

The healing process for most women of domestic violence is a difficult and painful one. It’s often hard to articulate the mixed feelings that remain as a result of the traumatic experience of domestic abuse. Our emotions are often bottled up inside us and become part of a heavy, unhappiness within us. Sometimes it is too painful or embarrassing to speak about the abuse.

Community Legal Services in East Palo Alto provides legal assistance to low-income individuals and families. Our practice areas include housing, immigration, general civil litigation, and anti-predatory lending. We are a community-based organization funded by grants and donations from foundations, law firms, legal organizations, and individuals who recognize the importance of providing the protections of the law to those who wouldn't otherwise have them.

Our primary purpose is relevancy and responsiveness to the immediate and the emerging needs of youth in our community. We achieve our purpose by the development of projects that address fundamental causes of youth violence and high-risk behaviors. The goal is societal change and family restoration for safe, healthy and progressive neighborhoods and households.

Since 1915, the Fellowship of Reconciliation (FOR) has carried on programs and educational projects concerned with domestic and international peace and justice, nonviolent alternatives to conflict, and the rights of conscience. A nonviolent, interfaith, tax-exempt organization, FOR promotes nonviolence and has members from many religious and ethnic traditions. It is a part of the International Fellowship of Reconciliation (IFOR), which has branches or affiliates in more than 50 countries.
