With more than 3 million children in America who have at least one parent in jail or prison -- the challenges facing the formerly incarcerated and their children are mounting. In addition, research has identified a strong connection between homelessness, unemployment and re-offenders. However, many more community-based service providers and re-entry workers remain overwhelmed due to a severe lack of tangible resources for the formerly incarcerated. Finally, Genesis Joy House presents a pioneering solution to help formerly incarcerated women overcome two of the greatest challenges associated with incarceration. Through providing residential housing and jobs on demand, Genesis Joy House is poised to noticeably impact recidivism in America.

Genesis will serve re-entry transits in the Middle Georgia area. The staggering number of women and men returning from correctional facilities represents a significant challenge that can no longer remain overlooked. How we target this concern will determine how we respond to incarceration for many years to come. Mindful of these challenges, and that limited resources for the formerly incarcerated are linked to recidivism -- we are calling upon our partners and community leaders to help us reduce recidivism in the State of Georgia.

The organization has attracted the support of prominent funders and leading think-tank organizations, built a solid customer base of skilled boomer talent, established an effective staffing and infrastructure, and created a buzz in the community.

The Texas League of Young Voters Education Fund empowers young people to participate in the democratic process and create change on the local, state and national level – with a focus on non‐college youth and youth from low‐income communities and communities of color. The League makes political engagement relevant by meeting young people where they are, working on issues that affect their lives, and providing them with the tools, training, and support to become serious catalysts for change in their communities.

PLAN’s mission is to build collective strategic action among coalition partners in order to deepen democracy and achieve greater social justice in Nevada. Since 1994, we have worked to bring together diverse and potentially competing organizations into one cohesive force for transformational change in Nevada. Our 32 coalition member groups include the largest labor unions in the state, LGBT, conservation and women’s groups, civil rights organizations, Latino organizations, Native American Tribes, and anti-poverty advocacy groups. Our key strategies include research, political education and training, leadership development, communications, civic engagement, direct action, coalition building, and lobbying.

Child Trauma Institute, Inc. is a non-profit organization with a faculty of 10 mental health professionals. Our mission is to promote the healing and healthy development of children, adolescents, and adults who have experienced trauma or loss; to develop, evaluate, and disseminate effective prevention, assessment, and treatment methods. Primary activities include research, publications, direct clinical services, and especially training mental health professionals. For example, we recently provided a 5-day training for the new 34-member disaster response team in the Caribbean. We also frequently train those treating juvenile delinquents.

LWR was founded on December 15, 2007 as a US based nonprofit foundation. As a result of their personal experiences with their son, Philip Mathews, who was born with Goldenhar’s Syndrome, Susan and Santhosh Mathews envisioned an organization to help children born with craniofacial deformities. LWR was born out of a dream that every child deserves a chance to life. This dream has expanded to include the cause of countless men, women and children who are lured into sex trafficking. We are passionate about the plight of these individuals, and desire to provide and build services that support and empower them.

Eagle Research Associates is a California Public Benefit Corporation that has a dual mission: Our first mission is to educate and warn the public about Internet investment Ponzi's/Scams through free community seminars, speaking engagements, radio and television interviews, posting on financial forums and blogs where these Ponzi's/Scams are promoted. Our second mission is to provide our research to law enforcement agencies worldwide assisting them in their investigations of these illegal investment programs.

VRC works ceaselessly to give Pit Bulls another chance in life. Each and EVERY dog taken in, gets spayed or neutered, and given any medical treatment necessary. We work patiently to re-acclimatize fearful dogs to the loving care of a human, so that they may eventually be adopted. In some cases, these dogs have never had a kind word or touch, and it is a slow process. After determining temperaments and compatibility factors, we begin that long search for the perfect home.
