Burma Community Builders promotes peace and democracy in Burma by providing basic education to the world’s most underrepresented people. Education is powerfully correlated to poverty, violence, health, and democracy. By educating the world’s poorest people, we can change our global society in a fundamentally positive direction. Burma Community Builders is not simply a charity. In order to create sustainable projects, we collaborate with local villages as equal partners for our school building projects. We provide each school with materials, skilled labor, and financial support. Communities in turn physically construct the school and manage the running of the school.

Global KindredSPIRITS, Inc. produces annual concerts and cultural events entitled KindredSPIRITS, bringing together diverse performers, community musicians, and audiences to support our global humanitarian aid partners in their efforts to heal the world. In blending education, action, culture, and the arts, KindredSPIRITS reaches people of all interests, demonstrating how humanitarianism is incumbent on all of us. KindredSPIRITS also awards the KindredSPIRITS Humanitarian Award at these events to deserving individuals and corporations.

PLAN’s mission is to build collective strategic action among coalition partners in order to deepen democracy and achieve greater social justice in Nevada. Since 1994, we have worked to bring together diverse and potentially competing organizations into one cohesive force for transformational change in Nevada. Our 32 coalition member groups include the largest labor unions in the state, LGBT, conservation and women’s groups, civil rights organizations, Latino organizations, Native American Tribes, and anti-poverty advocacy groups. Our key strategies include research, political education and training, leadership development, communications, civic engagement, direct action, coalition building, and lobbying.

Community Legal Services in East Palo Alto provides legal assistance to low-income individuals and families. Our practice areas include housing, immigration, general civil litigation, and anti-predatory lending. We are a community-based organization funded by grants and donations from foundations, law firms, legal organizations, and individuals who recognize the importance of providing the protections of the law to those who wouldn't otherwise have them.

Gifts That Give Hope promotes meaningful gift giving and support for non-profit organizations. We are a non-profit organization and group of dedicated volunteers that assists service, civic, community and faith-based groups plan events to raise awareness of needs in a local or global area, secure donations and encourage volunteerism, while providing unique shopping and giving opportunities. Direct Relief is a leading medical relief organization, working to improve the health and lives of people in need in all 50 states and 70 countries. Internationally we provide locally run health facilities with the resources to treat patients in need: medicines, supplies, and equipment. In the U.S., we work with more than 1,000 health clinics across the U.S. to assist in emergencies and an ongoing basis, providing them with free medications for people in need. Direct Relief is among the largest medical suppliers to Haiti in response to the 2010 earthquake, has top charity ratings, including four-star and “top notch” rating from Charity Navigator, and a 100% fundraising efficiency rating from Forbes magazine.
