We are proud to announce the evolution of the WAVES logo.  We look to this as one of the first steps in re-defining our visual identity.  Thanks to Nick Lynn, for building on the original logo developed by Emilio Amico, brother of WAVES Peru founder, Daniela.

36th Running of the Marine Corps Marathon!

Washington, DC – The Semper Fi Fund will have over 800 community runners and over 50 Team Semper Fi members running in the 2011 Marine Corps Marathon — making the SFF the largest charity group on the MCM course on October 30!!

Semper Fi Fund Team member, Colin “CJ” Norgaard has a deep-rooted reason for running as a Community Athlete for the Semper Fi Fund in this year’s Marine Corps Marathon. As a boy he remembers rummaging through his grandfather’s things. He remembers seeing medals, patches, an American Flag and old photos of his grandfather in uniform. He also remembers stories of the “Old Glory Days” and statements of “For God and Country.”

Wounded Warriors participate in Cutting Horse Classic 2 Competition

Nokesville, VA – As part of Semper Fi Fund’s Jinx McCain Horsemanship Program, ten select wounded Marines from the Marine Corps’ Wounded Warrior Regiment (WWR) will be participating in the Wounded Warrior Cutting Horse Classic 2 event at the D & M Cattle Company in Nokesville, Virginia this week.

Home Depot Foundation Makes Major Grant to the Semper Fi Fund

ATLANTA, GA – October 10, 2011 – As part of its “Celebration of Service” initiative to honor U.S. military veterans, The Home Depot Foundation® today announced a total of almost $1 million in grants to the Military Warriors Support Foundation, the Semper Fi Fund and the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation. Each organization provides housing assistance to injured and disabled veterans by funding handicapped accessible modifications and renovations to existing homes as well as new housing.

Semper Fi Fund recognized at the Warrior Open Golf Tournament hosted by George W. Bush Presidential Center

Camp Pendleton, CA – Former President George W. Bush recently hosted the inaugural Warrior Open to honor the men and women of our military who have been wounded while serving our nation. The two day tournament was held in Dallas, Texas and spotlighted 20 members of the military who were wounded during Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.

Ride for Semper Fi 2011

Scottsdale, Arizona — Go Ride for Semper Fi! The ride kicked off October 12 in Scottsdale, Arizona and will end at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot in San Diego on October 15.
This is the fourth year for the ride which takes place over 3 days and covers 430-mile. The Ride for Semper Fi’s goal is to raise over $300,000 to benefit the Semper Fi Fund.
