Thomasville, NC – On Saturday October 29, Army Sergeant Joseph Smith, a former Marine will be presented with the keys to his new specially adapted home, made possible by Homes for Our Troops, Inc. and local volunteers and donors from the community. The Semper Fi Fund is providing a grant of $15,000 to be used towards the cost of SGT Smith’s new home. Barbra Roberson, a Semper Fi Fund Community Outreach Manager, will take part in Saturday’s presentation.

Camp Pendleton, CA – Marine and Milwaukee native John Adams is training for the 36th Marine Corps Marathon, an event that hits close to home for the Marine.
As an 81mm Mortar Platoon Commander for 3rd Battalion, 1st Marines, First Lt. Adams said he’s participating in the marathon as a way to raise money for his fallen and injured comrades through the Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund. He has already raised nearly $10,000 but would like to raise more for his fellow Marines.

Charleston, SC – The 4th Annual Rink Roast will be held on Nov 5, 2011 at the Elks Lodge in Charleston, SC. The event is hosted by a group of retired Navy service members. They will be donating all funds collected from the raffles and the BBQ to the Semper Fi Fund.
The Elks Lodge will also be celebrating its 40th anniversary on this date. There will be BBQ, Music and raffles.
This is a private event.

DOBSON — Not rain, nor cold, nor wind, nor injuries will keep the Fortunate Sons from attaining their goal.

Vinottimo LLC in collaboration with Marchesi de Frescobaldi is hosting the first ever, Brunello Vertical Tasting led by world famous wine maker, Lamberto Frescobaldi to lend a hand to those who have selflessly served our country.
The vertical tasting will be held at the MWR Club (Upstairs) on Saturday, 5 November from 10- 11 a.m. Tickets go on sale Wednesday, 26 October for $10/person. All proceeds will go to the Semper Fi Fund.
Attendance is limited to the first 40 persons. All attendees must bring their own wine glasses.
