36th Running of the Marine Corps Marathon!

Washington, DC – The Semper Fi Fund will have over 800 community runners and over 50 Team Semper Fi members running in the 2011 Marine Corps Marathon — making the SFF the largest charity group on the MCM course on October 30!!

Ongoing Support: Skylla for Semper Fi Fundraiser

Skylla Engineering will be hosting a series of “Skylla for Semper Fi” fundraising events to benefit the Semper Fi Fund over the course of one year.
Events will take place near the Skylla locations in Virginia, South Carolina, New Mexico, and Mississippi. Events will consist of a combination of Golf Tournaments, 5K Run/Walks, and/or Dinner/Silent Auctions beginning in October 2011 and concluding in August 2012.

Mackey’s Hot Rods Open House and Car Show

Mackey’s Hot Rods, Inc. will be hosting an Open House and Car Show on Sunday, October 9, 2011 from 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM.
This event is open to the public with free admission. All ages welcome.
The car show will include all types of custom cars and hot rods, free food catered by Deli-licious, live DJ, and a charity raffle. 100% of the proceeds from the event will be donated to the Semper Fi Fund.

Follow Me! The Marines and the Mountain

The Marine saying, “Follow me!” will be Walter Cottrell’s motivation for climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro this month to raise awareness for the mission of the Semper Fi Fund.

4th Annual Wounded Warrior Golf Tournament at Golden Eagle Golf

The Golden Eagle Golf Club and the Adams American Legion Post 86 in Kilmarnock, Virginia are holding the Fourth Annual Wounded Warrior Golf Tournament on October 6, 2011. The format for the tournament puts one Wounded Warrior/OEF-OIF veteran guest with three local golfers.
Lunch and dinner will be provided. Local businesses will also be providing tons of door prizes.
