We cannot deny the impact of mining activities in a territory: In addition to environmental changes, the potential economic, demographic, educational, and professional changes as well as consequences to infrastructure can cause a drastic change to the landscape of the region. However, mine exploitation is restricted to a determined life-cycle; normally, a mining site will operate for around fifty years. In other words, it is a story with a known end.

The group aims to bolster the effectiveness of the Inter-American Democratic Charter, approved on Sept. 11, 2001, by all 34 members of the OAS to address new kinds of democratic threats beyond the traditional military coup.

Brasil community spurs attendance at Autodesk University Brasil

The first Autodesk University Brasil was held in Sao Paulo last week and was a resounding success. Over 1400 people packed the conference for a full day of presentations and training sessions and partied into the early evening unwilling to leave.
