About This Opportunity
Founded in 1973, Bill Wilson Center is a nonprofit community-based organization serving over 10,000 clients in Santa Clara County annually. Bill Wilson Center's vision is to prevent poverty by connecting youth to education, employment, housing and positive relationships.
Bill Wilson Center has many opportunities for volunteers to get involved. Please attend an orientation on Tuesday, May 14 OR Sunday, May 26 in order to find out more information about all of the ways in which you can volunteer.
Here are a few specific ways volunteers support our organization:
Youth Programs: Volunteers are needed in various Bill Wilson Center programs to work directly with youth. Possible volunteer activities include spending time with youth in our shelter, tutoring, mentorship, supporting staff on group outings, and facilitating workshops.
Center for Living with Dying Grief Support: We invite all persons in search of an enriching, heart-opening experience to join our dynamic Volunteer Program at the Centre for Living with Dying. Support someone in grief by lending open ears and a compassionate presence.
Contact Cares program: Be the voice on the other end of the phone when callers in crisis are seeking assistance, referrals, or someone to lend a listening ear. Volunteer telephone counselors are also responsible for answering general information calls regarding Bill Wilson Center programs and services, and helping families and individuals access the correct Bill Wilson Center program.
You must RSVP to attend the Orientation
